Driving Textile Circularity Through Technology and Delivering Sustainable Value
PADE is honored to announce that we have been recognized with the 2024 IMV Technology Innovation Award. Organized by the ESG Technology Innovation Alliance, the IMV Technology Innovation Award focuses on three core pillars—Innovation, Market, and Value—with the goal of identifying and supporting enterprises and teams that successfully translate technological innovation into real-world applications while generating positive environmental and social impact.
The 2024 competition spanned more than six months and attracted approximately 140 teams from 17 cities and counties across Taiwan. Through a rigorous, multi-stage evaluation process—including preliminary screening, mentorship workshops, on-site visits, secondary reviews, and final presentations—30 teams were shortlisted, with awards ultimately granted to 17 teams demonstrating outstanding execution capability and meaningful impact. PADE Sustainability’s selection among these distinguished teams marks a significant milestone in our journey.
From Technology Development to Real-World Validation
Throughout the IMV Technology Innovation Award evaluation process, the judging panel emphasized not only technological novelty, but also real-world applicability, commercial feasibility, and tangible contributions to sustainability goals. PADE Sustainability presented a comprehensive narrative of how our long-term technology development has been transformed into solutions that can be practically deployed within the industry, supported by real use cases and data-driven validation.
Through on-site evaluations and final-stage presentations, we demonstrated how our technology addresses critical industry challenges such as resource waste, low recycling efficiency, and insufficient material purity. The system’s operational stability and scalability in real-world environments were key factors that earned strong recognition from the judges.
Advancing Textile Circular Economy Through Intelligent Sorting
PADE has long focused on developing critical technologies for the textile circular economy. The core innovation recognized by this award lies in our intelligent sorting system, which integrates near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. This system enables rapid, non-destructive, and highly accurate identification of textile materials, followed by automated sorting.
By significantly improving the purity of recycled feedstock, this technology enables recovered textiles to be remanufactured into yarns and other high-value applications, truly realizing a garment-to-garment circular model. Compared to traditional recycling methods that rely heavily on manual labor or low-efficiency equipment, our solution reduces labor intensity while providing downstream recycling processes with more stable, traceable, and higher-quality material inputs.
Sustainability Must Be Grounded in Both Technology and Market Viability
Receiving the IMV Technology Innovation Award is not only an honor for PADE Sustainability, but also a reminder of the responsibility we carry. The evaluation process reaffirmed our belief that technologies capable of driving sustainable transformation must meet three essential criteria: technological maturity, real-world deployability, and long-term commercial viability.
Sustainability is not merely a concept or slogan. Only solutions that can be adopted by industry and sustained over time can generate meaningful impact. The IMV judging panel’s emphasis on this principle closely aligns with PADE Sustainability’s long-standing development philosophy.
Expanding Impact and Deepening Sustainable Value
Looking forward, PADE will continue to enhance our intelligent sorting and data-driven capabilities while expanding application scenarios across the textile and recycling value chain. Our goal is to support brands and manufacturers in improving recycling efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and building more transparent and traceable textile circular systems.
At the same time, we will actively collaborate with industry partners, research institutions, and policymakers to help establish a comprehensive circular economy ecosystem. We believe technology should not only improve efficiency, but also serve as a key enabler of sustainable transformation. The recognition from the IMV Technology Innovation Award will continue to inspire PADE Sustainability as we move forward and expand our impact.
